On the 26th of February, my class and another class which I forgot which class, went on a learning journey to Sungei Buloh. While walking around Sungei Buloh, I saw both animals and plants. I saw some squirrels, monitor lizards, crabs, mud skippers, wild dogs, fishes, wild birds, spiders, a rooster nestling on a tree, prawns, a wasp, bugs and other fishes. For plants, I saw water lilies, and other interesting and beautiful trees, some which had different coloured leaves. For english, my group and I needed to take videos during the trip, and turn it into a presentation, along with other things, like pictures and describing what happened.

Whereas for science, we had to collect a water sample from the swamp during high tide, and collect the results from the datalogger, and write it down. We had to draw out pictures and write short summaries from geography, along with a peer-evaluation worksheet. From these tasks, I have leaned that, even though Jermaine they all might seem annoying in school, they make really good friendswhile at Sungei Buloh. Another thing that I have learnt is to stick in a group, and always look around to check if any group member was left behind.

Although I didn't do much of the work in Sungei Buloh, except for providing a jar which they said they'd rather use Leonard's, I still tried to do what I can, like telling them which area had a certain animal, and tried to stick as a group during our 'tour' with Mr Loh.

The only thing that really interested me was when collecting the water sample, as one unlucky group's glass jar broke loose from the rafia string and floated away, and when they tried to use something to bring it back, they're only pushing it further away. Other than that, my group and I were lucky enough to follow Mr Loh to the wetland reserve, where we've seen someone modelling, with all the camera equipment, took many pictures, and had an unforgettable experience there. Another interesting event that happened was, as my group was keeping the datalogger, one of the wires dangled downwards, and into the gap between the floorboards, right into the water. We panicked, of course, but all that we could do was to use some tissue and wipe it dry.

Yesterday my class and another class,
went to Sungei Buloh for a learning journey.
My group and I, Jermaine, Solomon, Leonard and Zhi Xiang,
managed to follow Mr Loh to the wetland reserve, while everyone else was stuck in a certain part of Sungei Boloh. We saw 13 monitor lizards, some big some small, 9 squirrels, some unknown bird species as we went around.
We were walking for I think, more than an hour, and we didn't complain or felt that our feet hurt. Until a few hours later then did my feet started to hurt. We all had an unforgetable experience there, and the boys, they behaved better than I expected. The scenery was breath-taking, and we really appreciated what nature had done for us.
There are certain memories that were edged into my head, like how I encountered almost getting bitten by a poisonous spider, and seeing a squirrel a few centimetres away from my face as it ran past the branch and jumped to another tree. I definately would go back there, if I had the chance(:
Here are some pictures that I took.

Crabs drying themselves

That's malaysia, over there.(:

Monitor Lizards.

When my group and I were walking with Mr Loh, we saw this signboard a couple of times.

Squirrels.

The spider that I almost touched, if Zhi Xiang hadn't warned me.
(I had to take it from a distance, and Leonard pulled me away and said I was too close :/)

A bird that was hunting for fishes while looking out of the bird hide.

We walked all the way up to that shelter, to look at the scenery.
Then it was a flight of staircases before we reached the top. Solomon complained, though.

(On the way down, that's Leonard down there)

Mr Loh said that if we were lucky, we would see alligators suntanning on those flats.

I think in order to be a good group member,
you must.. :
Listen while others talk,
Discuss things together with your members,
cooperate with your group members,
Talk one at a time,
Do your best,
Don't leave everything for one person to do,
Work together at all times,
Stick together at all times,
Help each other on the way,
and most of all, have fun being together.(:

Hello, my name is Mabel Lew and I study in Regent Secondary. I am currently in Secondary 2, and this blog is made for a project purpose for English.

I enjoy hanging out with my friends, and I slack alot, unless I have things to do. I play maplestory too, with my friends, just to kill time. The only books that I am interested in are Romance books, and other books that catch my attention. I love to be with my friends, and I try my very best to be honest with them. But sometimes for the sake of not wanting to hurt them in any way, I'd lie. But that's only once in a blue moon. My hobbies are going out with my friends, drawing, slacking, watching movies, being with animals, as i'm an animal lover.

Here, there are pictures that I've either drawn by hand or on the computer.

These are pictures of my pets.

And these were taken from maplestory(:
